CMS Sync lets Destinations power select Playeasy content directly from their external CMS platform, so your team only has to maintain content in one place. Here's everything you need to know.

What is CMS Sync?

CMS Sync allows your Destination to power select Playeasy content directly from your existing CMS platform, keeping your CMS as the single source of truth. Once set up, content flows one way — from your CMS into Playeasy — on an automatic daily basis. That means going forward, you'll continue managing this content in your CMS, not in Playeasy.

What content can I sync?

You can sync three content types:

  • Local Business listings
  • Blogs
  • Events

This synced content helps power your Playeasy Attraction Marketplace (surfaced on your Destination profile), your Facility profiles, your Event microsites, and — for blogs and events especially — gives Compass a much richer set of content to pull from and surface to users.

Which CMS platforms are supported?

  • Simpleview is our first out-of-the-box integration, and we can get any Simpleview customer started easily.
  • WordPress blogs typically sync easily too, with nothing needed on your end.
  • Business listings and Events on other platforms require a bit more of a conversation — we'll need to understand how your site manages that content (internally, through a plugin, or via an external developer) to determine the best path to sync it. This is treated as a custom project.
  • Using a different CMS altogether? We're open to working with any platform! Reach out and we'll start the conversation — this typically begins with a quick chat with our team, followed by connecting with your CMS provider to scope the integration.

How does the sync work?

Once set up, your CMS Sync runs automatically once per day — no ongoing action needed on your end. If you've made an update in your CMS and need it reflected in Playeasy right away, just reach out to us and we can trigger an on-demand sync at any time.

How do I get started?

CMS Sync setup happens during your onboarding process with Playeasy members with the Compass package. Our team will let you know exactly what details we need, you'll gather that information from your CMS, and we'll configure the sync — a one-time setup that then runs daily going forward.

What information do I need to provide?

This depends on the content type and platform:

  • Blogs and Events (Simpleview): Nothing beyond your website domain.
  • Business Listings (Simpleview): The Category ID numbers for the listing categories you'd like to sync (for example, "Restaurants" might be Category ID 73 in your instance). Most customers pull this as an export directly from their Simpleview instance. If you're not sure where to find this, Simpleview has documentation on locating Category IDs.

Is this included in my subscription?

CMS Sync's out-of-the-box integrations (Simpleview, WordPress blogs) are included as part of the Compass add-on package. More custom CMS integrations may require a conversation to scope the project. Not sure which package you're on? Visit our pricing page or reach out to your account manager.

What's NOT synced?

  • Facilities are not synced from your CMS. This is intentional — Playeasy's Facility data is robust and directly tied to RFP matchmaking, so we recommend using our Facility Element on your website. This lets Playeasy serve as the source of truth for your venues, while still integrating smoothly with your CMS.
  • Hotels are not synced either. Playeasy has its own live rate system that lets you capture direct bookings from leisure travelers and event attendees — functionality that lives natively in Playeasy.
